What short peptides are
Short peptides are compounds of two to four amino acids. Several of them, such as the tetrapeptides Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (Epithalon) and Ala-Glu-Asp-Pro (Cortagen), are described in Russian scientific literature on bioregulation; today they are used as reference substances in cell models and gene-expression experiments.
